Business Matching
in Cairns

JFGA Business Matching
in Cairns

JFGA Business Matching is an international business matching event connecting Japan and Australia, held annually in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

On the same day and at the same venue, the Cairns Sake Award will also be held, making it a special day to promote Japanese food culture, including sake, both domestically and internationally.

The venue will bring together top producers and manufacturers from all over Japan. A wide variety of Japan's proud ingredients and foods will be gathered in one place, including sake, matcha and Japanese tea, traditional Japanese sweets, noodles, desserts, and agricultural products.

This is a valuable opportunity to directly introduce exceptional products from various regions of Japan, which, while inheriting a long history and tradition, are not yet widely known overseas, to the people of Australia. It is held as a place where producers, buyers, importers, restaurant owners, and retailers can interact directly, fostering new business and cultural exchanges.

This event is being held in cooperation with the Australia-Japan Society (FNQ) with the aim of building bridges between Japan and Australia.

A special day to encounter authentic Japanese flavors and culture, and expand new business possibilities.

We welcome everyone, from those in the food and beverage industry to anyone interested in Japanese food culture.

We look forward to your visit.

Japanese confectionery performance

2026/08/17

Event time: 14:00 - 14:30

We will be holding a special wagashi (Japanese confectionery) performance that fuses Japanese tradition and innovation.

A young wagashi (Japanese confectionery) craftsman, who has even provided wagashi to the descendants of Sen no Rikyu, the great master of the tea ceremony, will be featured.

He is a notable wagashi (Japanese confectionery) craftsman who was in charge of the dim sum (tea sweets) at the tea ceremony held in Kamakura prior to the tea offering ceremony to the Great Buddha of Kamakura, hosted by the Urasenke head family.

Please come and see the world of Japanese confectionery, which is created with new ideas while inheriting traditional techniques.
